 Thunderbird Ridge Adult Camp in Charleston, WV, is a brand-new weekend retreat for adults to reconnect with nature, embrace adventure, and relive the joy of summer camp. Set on the historic Camp Virgil Tate grounds, it offers classic activities, cozy cabins, and a nostalgic vibe.

Campers will enjoy archery, hiking, creative workshops, team competitions, and evenings by the campfire with songs and storytelling. Escape, play, and make new memories—just like the good old days!

These are perfect for anyone who loves a challenge and wants to break a sweat, either by working as a team or testing personal limits. Think classic camp vibes but with a grown-up twist! While we’re still fine-tuning the activity list, we’re planning options like archery, obstacle courses, relay races, and other pulse-pounding experiences.

 Here’s your chance to explore your creative side! These laid-back, hands-on sessions let you unwind and create something memorable. Whether you’re crafting solo or with others, you’ll enjoy the freedom to express yourself and maybe even take home a unique creation. We’re planning options like creative arts workshops, a group art mural, social mixers, and campfire skits and songs. 

Reflection & Relaxation

If you’re looking for some downtime, these calm, nature-inspired experiences are just for you. Perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with yourself or nature, these activities are ideal for those who want a slower pace amid all the excitement. You might find yourself practicing yoga by the river, hiking through peaceful trails, meditating, or stargazing on a quiet evening.
